United C-Stores (UCS) is a membership association for convenience store and fuel service operators. We advocate for the convenience retail industry and create events for education and networking opportunities for our members. UCS engages in federal, state, and local advocacy on behalf of convenience stores, fueling retailers, vendors, and trade associations that serve the convenience retail industry. We provide our members with industry knowledge, training, and best practices to ensure growth and sustainability.
UCS represents businesses engaged in the sale, service, operation, and promotion of convenience store products and services, including beverages, snacks, fuel, lottery, and other products and services associated with convenience stores. Our members include convenience store owners, gaming retailers, suppliers, distributors, manufacturers, and vendors conducting business in the convenience store industry.
We help raise awareness of our members' contributions to the state’s economy and help local, state, and federal lawmakers and law enforcement agencies better understand the industry's needs. Often, the law and policymakers charged with regulating the industry are unaware of its challenges and the operational needs of the convenience trade. UCS helps educate all stakeholders in the convenience retail industry to dispel myths and misinformation stemming from uninformed sources.
We work diligently to promote the interests of the convenience store and fueling industry and protect our members from unproductive regulations. We keep up with important issues that impact the industry and serve as a resource to the governmental agencies. Our mission is to build a platform for growth and innovation in the convenience retail sector and provide training, education, and networking opportunities for our members.
From time to time, we have witnessed various government agencies unfairly target convenience stores while allowing other distribution outlets to operate without justification. As an industry association, UCS, in conjunction with other trade associations, actively monitors plans by government agencies that would put convenience store operators at a competitive disadvantage.
